I've always wanted to be the friend that is available and always ready for an adventure. I remind myself of this even if I'm feeling too tired, too much on my plate, or work is busy, that there's always time to be a good friend. Life is busy for everyone, no matter who you are, so you just have to be intentional with your time and efforts. I think it gets even harder as you grow older because your starting a family, getting more involved in your job, but I truly love the times with my friends and the small getaways. That's when memories are made.
That being said, Chris and I took a last minute trip to Flagstaff for New Years and we were not prepared for the snow. The traffic was terrible going to and from, our Jeep didn't like the icey roads, and we ended up being too tired to stay out for the midnight pinecone drop. All in all though, we got to spend a short period of time with some friends and made the best of it. I hope as Chris and I continue in life together, that we are always ready to be a good friend and take the small trip, even if it's last minute.
